Color Exercise
In this activity, I created a mood board to represent things that are both inspiring to me and resonate with me. After this, I used a color palate that was pulled from the mood board to create my own composition that I felt represented myself as a designer. The ensuing design began with the prompt, what would the cover of a book about me look like?
Above is a mood board showcasing a number of things that inspire me and my designs. Most notably, I appreciate natural and organic elements, Japanese design, and hand-drawn elements. After compiling this mood board, I pulled a color palate out and placed it along the right side.
After creating my mood board I created this graphic as a symbol of myself as a designer within the color palate I had set previously. The design was initially drawn by hand, then transferred into a digital form. This composition came to symbolize my persistent optimism despite being a recent college graduate who is unsure of their exact place in the design world.
